We had our son's picture taken today for renewal of his US passport at a photo store/Expert and they said that they used the "US settings" for his pictures.

When we came home I confirmed with what is stated on the website (of course I forgot to bring the exact instructions for pics, only the form which states 2x2, but since they insisted it would be okay with "US settings" I'm holding them to this). The measurements of the picture is not exactly 2 x 2", but something like 1.5 x almost 2". The measurement from the top of his head to his chin is cutting very close to 1". Instructions said not less than 1" and not more than 1.8" or something like that.

Do you think they'll refuse him a pass port? Should we try to get new pictures??

The store claimed that they had someone that took pics there that was going to the US embassy and they used this "US settings" on the camera, and it was okay.

I wondered if anyone has some good insight to this, who has renewed US passports recently?
