Just last week a good friend of mine rang to tell me she had breast cancer.

She's 33 years old.

Although they've caught the cancer early and removed it, she's now got to undergo the trauma and side effects of chemotheraphy.

She's got a mountain to climb over the next few months, and now so have I.

In late August I'll be climbing Kebnekasie, Sweden's highest mountain. What's more I'll be blogging my way up with real-time updates.

It's all to raise a bit of attention for breast cancer and at the same time a smile on the face of my close friend.

You'll be able to keep a track of my preparations and progress at http://lagomlife.blogspot.com

If you do make it a charity event, and you find an easy way of getting sponsorship where we can pay via the Net, you'll get my donation, on top of that i'll get the people I work with to also make a donation..

Some of the charities involved in the marathon allowed the runner to setup a web page on the charities site and accept donations that way... not sure if BCC do that

Here's an example of a friends webpage:

It made it as easy as a few clicks to donate the money.

Of course, once people start donating, there's no way you can give up!

Just noticed that website "Just Giving" allows you to do it for different charities.. so look into that.. would be a cool idea...

Just checked, you can make donations via that site (or your created webpage on that site) to BCC:
